Pilates and Barre Instructors

The Workout Club is seeking a Pilates and Barre Instructor who is a self-starter, energetic, health & fitness-minded, and who loves to help others feel better, move better, and live better.

Job Description Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a safe, professional, comprehensive Pilates training program for each client to ensure they attain their goals and remain motivated to continue progress
  • Conduct initial client’s complimentary assessment and goal setting to be able to recommend a Pilates training program
  • Instruct both private, duet sessions, and semi-private sessions
  • Work with Group Fitness Director to build your book of business through our member base and ensure your success
  • Complete all administrative requirements associated with client management
  • Collaborate with other departments in the club to ensure members have a well-rounded experience
  • Provide excellent customer service to all Workout Club members and guests
  • Strive to have consistent & frequent client activity to help them achieve results and goals
  • Participate in ongoing training and development
  • Maintain studio and equipment cleanliness
  • Instruct effective, motivating, and safe Pilates Training/Barre Workout session
  • Use a variety of Pilates equipment/exercises in small group and one-on-one settings
  • Manage individual schedule and clientele scheduling
  • Manage administrative processes needed for session sales and payroll
  • Regular communication with management, co-workers, and club staff
  • Provide Demo sessions for members and co-workers
  • Participate in department/club promotional campaigns
  • Participate in department In-services and staff meetings
  • Promote self and program to prospective clients
  • Regular follow-up and outreach with clients/prospective clients to grow business

  • Teach a minimum of two classes per week

Qualifications:

  • Test out and completion from a Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program or completion of certification on all Pilates apparatus including mat and reformer
  • A minimum of 400 hours of Pilates education must be completed through a Pilates certification program
  • Applicants must be able to provide a valid copy of their Pilates certification(s)
  • Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and ability to demonstrate them
  • Excellent team-based communication with the capacity to receive and deliver feedback
  • Ability to motivate a large group while providing cueing to all fitness levels
  • 1-5 years’ experience as a Fitness Professional
  • Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Pilates Mat/Barre instructors must possess a current certification in their discipline
  • Have experience teaching
  • Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of being hired
  • Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations
  • Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education
  • Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class. Bending and moving is done frequently. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Physical activity will include standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, sitting, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements are close, distant, depth, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a non-exempt part-time position paid hourly by class rate. This position requires ability to work mornings, nights, and weekend hours.
