The Workout Club is seeking a Yoga Instructor who is a self-starter, energetic, health & fitness-minded, and loves to help others feel better, move better, live better.
Job Description:
- As an instructor, you will provide this experience through a welcoming front desk check-in process, guiding students through their class, and supporting each individual student to live their power
- Our instructors cultivate supportive relationships by making themselves accessible and approachable, ensuring student safety, and always embodying the Workout Club Core Values
- Teach a minimum of two Yoga classes per week
- Serve the community and provide a consistent safe space for all to practice by educating students on alignment, offering modifications for postures as appropriate, and consistently
- Instructors are scheduled to be at the studio 30 minutes before and after each class to read studio communications
- Connect with students 30 minutes prior to class beginning and 30 minutes after class ends in support of students’ personal growth, growth of the studio, and all current Workout Club initiatives. As a member of the Workout Club teacher community, you are the face of our students’ the Workout Club experience
- Build a strong rapport and sense of community with members by maintaining a consistent coaching schedule and providing safe and motivating sessions for participants
- Deliver classes within Workout Club guidelines, arriving to each class with prepared with any necessary equipment and music with adherence to licensing agency requirements
- Maintain Workout Club cleanliness standards during and after sessions and ensure studio presentation is always extraordinarily clean
- Engage in the growth and development process by utilizing feedback received from the Fitness Manager through regular check-ins, training, and session evaluations
- Participate in ongoing fitness industry education and maintain proof of current credentials
- Maintain professional relationships through communication and teamwork with all Workout Club staff to meet member and facility needs
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled Fitness department meetings and special promotional events to promote participation in Workout Club Fitness offerings
Required:
- Prior to June 2020: Certificate of completion from a 200-hour yoga teacher training with an additional 50 hours of continuing education for C1, C2, HPF and Hot Formats or a Yoga Sculpt or Fitness Training plus an additional 40 hours of continuing Education for Yoga Sculpt
- After June 2020: Certificate from a format related 200-hour yoga teacher training in person/online, and/or a CorePower Yoga Online teacher training and/or completion of 50 Hours Yoga Sculpt Intensive
- Excellent oral communication skills, professionalism, customer service and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead students in physical activity for a maximum of 1.5 hours at a time
- Ability to withstand exposure to heat of a maximum of 104 degrees for a minimum of 60 mins in heated classes
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and build rapport with others
- Ability to operate basic Audio/Visual equipment
- Excellent team-based communication with the capacity to receive and deliver feedback
- Ability to motivate a large group while providing cueing to all fitness levels
- 1-5 years’ experience as a Fitness Professional
- Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable)
- Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of being hired
- Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode
- Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education
- Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class. Bending and moving is done frequently. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Physical activity will include standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, sitting, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements are close, distant, depth, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a non-exempt part-time position paid hourly by class rate. This position requires ability to work mornings, nights, and weekend hours.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
