Cycling Instructor

The Workout Club is seeking a Cycling Instructor who is a self-starter, energetic, health & fitness minded, and loves to help others feel better, move better, live better.

Job Description

  • Deliver the Exceptional, Fun and Safe Experience to our members in each class
  • Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary
  • Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class
  • Ensure class begins and ends on time
  • Assist Members with technical/mechanical support on the bike to maximize their experience
  • Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum
  • Communicate with Group Fitness Director on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing
  • Teach a minimum of two classes per week

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current cycling certification
  • Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of being hired
  • Ability to motivate a large group while providing cueing to all fitness levels
  • 1-5 years’ experience as a Fitness Professional
  • Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode
  • Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education
  • Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class. Bending and moving is done frequently. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Physical activity will include standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, sitting, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements are close, distant, depth, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a non-exempt part-time position paid class rate. This position requires ability to work mornings, nights, and weekend hours.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
