Job Description
- Deliver high-quality member experiences through safe, effective, and motivational classes.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and form that aligns with class descriptions while modifying intensity for members when necessary.
- Increase attendance through knowledge, skill, and emotional connection.
- Willing to teach at least two classes a week.
- Create community through positive interactions before and after class.
- Address member concerns or direct to appropriate club management.
- Report equipment maintenance needs to club management.
- Drive excitement for classes and recruit members to join.
- Secure appropriate substitutes to ensure class coverage, per Edge policies and procedures.
- Maintain a growing social media presence to attract new participants to classes, special events, etc.
- Read staff communications and attend staff meetings on occasion as required.
- Maintain a professional attitude toward responsibilities, fellow instructors, club staff and members.
- Adhere to Group Exercise policies and procedures.
- Support and articulate the Workout Club mission statement.
- Maintain a healthy way of life.
- Teach a minimum of two classes per week
Qualifications:
- 1 plus years’ experience teaching Les Mills formats. BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT, LES MILLS CORE, BODYBALANCE, BODYSTEP, BODYATTACK, LES MILLS GRIT preferred. Other formats will be considered.
- Current Les Mills Certification in the appropriate format (active autoship)
- Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification or be willing to become certified within 90 days of being hired
- Must be outgoing, energetic, and able to perform in front of an audience
- Must have access to regular email and phone communication
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and ability to demonstrate them
- Excellent team-based communication with the capacity to receive and deliver feedback
- Ability to motivate a large group while providing cueing to all fitness levels
- 1-5 years’ experience as a Fitness Professional
- Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM are acceptable)
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class. Bending and moving is done frequently. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Physical activity will include standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, sitting, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements are close, distant, depth, and ability to adjust focus.
Position type and expected hours of work:
This is a non-exempt part-time position paid hourly by class rate. This position requires ability to work mornings, nights, and weekend hours.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
