What is a fitness consultation?
A personal training fitness consultation is the first step in your fitness journey with our fitness manager. Here’s what you can typically expect:
- Initial Conversation: The fitness manager will discuss your health history, exercise experience, personal goals, and any specific concerns or preferences you may have.
- Lifestyle Assessment: They’ll ask about your daily activity, nutrition habits, occupation, and overall lifestyle to get a complete picture of your needs.
- Movement & Fitness Evaluation: A brief assessment may be performed to check your posture, mobility, core strength, balance, and flexibility. Some trainers also include basic fitness tests or measurements (the in-Body scan) to establish a starting point.
- Goal Setting: Together, you’ll discuss realistic and personalized goals that can be achieved with the help of a personal trainer—whether your focus is weight loss, strength, mobility, or general health.
- Review personal training packages: Based on your consultation, the fitness manager will explain how personal training sessions can help you reach your objectives. You may receive recommendations for a training plan, session frequency, and other club services that support your progress.
How do I schedule my fitness consultation?

What do personal training services at The Workout Club include?
Monthly clients enrolled in training programs are entitled to:
- A comprehensive monthly InBody Scan for body composition analysis and progress monitoring
- Personal training sessions conducted individually with a Certified Personal Trainer
- Tailored workout plans assigned by the trainer
What is small group training?
Want the expertise of our personal trainers but not ready to go alone? Small group training is perfect for you! The team environment helps keep you motivated, and our certified trainers will keep you challenged and engaged.

What certifications are required to become a trainer?
The Workout Club’s preferred certifications and educational qualifications include:
- Current CPR certification
- Certification from an organization recognized by the Workout Club (NASM, NSCA, ACSM, NCSF, ACE, AFAA, NESTA, TRX, and PTA Global)
- High school diploma or GED
- A degree in a related field is preferred (such as exercise science, kinesiology, sports medicine, physical education, nutrition, fitness specialist, etc.)
I'm not a Workout Club certified personal trainer; can I use your gym to train clients?
Under no circumstances is Workout Club a training gym for non-Workout Club trainers. This will result in the loss of your membership if you are a member or the loss of visitor privileges if you are a non-Workout Club guest.
How much notice is needed to cancel or reschedule a personal training session?
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations must be made by phone or in person with your trainer during regular business hours.
Please note that cancellations through the front desk are not permitted. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are not eligible for rescheduling.
How long are personal training sessions?
For your convenience, we offer both 30-minute and 60-minute personal training options.
Who do I contact to freeze or cancel my membership?
All inquiries regarding freezes or cancellations must be made through [email protected] or directly with the fitness manager at the club where you signed up. Trainers do not take cancellation or freeze requests.
Can I cancel my personal training contract?
There are a few accepted reasons for canceling your personal training contract and receiving a refund. Please refer to your Personal Training Agreement or contact your home club to inquire.
What if the trainer is not a good match for me?
We’re committed to making your training experience positive and effective. If your assigned trainer isn’t the right fit for you, please let us know—we’ll be happy to match you with someone else who might better support your needs and goals.
Can I gift personal training to someone else?
Yes! If you’re interested in giving the gift of fitness, reach out to your home gym for more information or send us a message with your request.
