Aquatics
What are your pool temperatures?
- Lap pools: 80°F
- Leisure pools: 88°F
- Spa: 102° to 104°
Are reservations needed to use the lap lanes?
We aim to keep all lap lanes open; reservations are not required. However, some pool activities—such as swimming meets, lessons, or practices—may impact lane availability. Check the Aquatics pages for more information.
What sanitation methods do you use?
Our pools meet and exceed health and cleanliness standards with chlorine sanitation. Additionally, we have installed a state-of-the-art UV system that optimizes sanitization while minimizing chlorine use.
Is pool-only membership offered?
No, we do not offer memberships that provide exclusive access to the pool. You may purchase a day pass that includes access to our entire facility. All memberships have full access to the pools and spa.
When is the quietest time to enjoy the pools?
The least busy times for lap swimming at the pools tend to be during weekdays from opening until around 4 PM, when the pools are generally quieter. Additionally, later in the evening, after 8 PM, tends to be a less busy time, allowing for more lap lane availability and a quieter swim environment. Keep in mind that lane availability can vary due to scheduled swim lessons, team practices, or special events, so it’s always a good idea to check the current aquatics schedules or contact your local club for the most up-to-date lane availability.
Salem and Londonderry both have a robust schedule, with swim lessons or swim team practice mostly held in the late afternoon and early evening, which can also minimize lane availability during those times. Scheduling your lap swim outside of these busy lesson hours, such as mid-morning or early afternoon on weekdays and late evenings, will generally give you a more relaxed and less crowded swimming experience. Weekend afternoons can be a quiet time in the pool.
Do you provide swimming equipment such as kickboards or pull buoys?
Yes, kickboards and pull buoys are available for members to use during swim sessions.
Are there safety lifts for pool entry?
Yes, per ADA guidelines, we provide Hoyer/chair lifts at fixed locations to enter the leisure pool in Salem and the warm water pool in Londonderry. Our leisure pools also feature zero-depth entry for easy access.
Do you have starting blocks?
All clubs have starting blocks; however, these are reserved exclusively for swim classes and programs.
What is the length of your lap pools?
Our lap pools range from 25 yards in length, depending on the location of the club.
How many lanes do your pools have?
- Londonderry: 6 lanes
- Salem: 8 lanes
What are the pool depths?
Depths vary by location:
- Londonderry pools are generally 4 to 6 feet deep.
- Salem pools range from 4 to 9 feet deep and include zero-depth entry in leisure pools.
What is considered proper swim attire?
Proper swim attire is required to ensure safety, hygiene, and comfort for all swimmers. Accepted swimwear includes swim trunks for men, one-piece or two-piece bathing suits for women, tankinis, swim or surf shirts, and appropriate pool footwear such as water shoes or flip-flops designed for aquatic environments. Wearing proper swimming attire helps maintain pool cleanliness and complies with facility policies.
Do I have to shower before entering the pool?
Yes, all swimmers are required to shower before entering the pools. Showers are available on deck as well as in locker rooms to promote cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for everyone using the pool. This policy helps keep the water clean by removing lotions, sweat, and other contaminants that can affect water quality and sanitation. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy aquatic environment.
What are the age requirements for independent swimming?
Children aged 14 or older do not need a parent in the water during Family Swim; however, a parent or caregiver must remain in the pool area with the child at all times for supervision and safety.
Do you offer swimming lessons for my children?
